What are your strengths?

Deductive reasoning, remaining calm in pressure situations, sensible- do not let emotions alter my decisions, team player, ambitious.

When I won the National Level Swimming Competition.

Tell me about a time when something went wrong and you dealt with it?

When I met with a car accident.

What is your greatest achievement?

Excellent Teacher Award in 2016.

What & who motivates you?

Self motivation- Look into the mirror and say- You’re the best and you can do the best.

What do you want to develop about yourself?

Abs would be good at this age.

How do you handle pressure/stress?

I remain calm- Don’t let the outside world affect your inner peace.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Writing- I am working on a Novel.

Strong determination.

Tell me about how a professional qualification you have obtained has helped you personally?

The more I study, the more I come to know that there’s a lot more in this world than you can imagine. It helps me expand my thinking.

Tell me about a significant crisis you have faced?

Nothing. Life’s been good.

How do you resolve conflict in the groups or teams that you are a part of?

Diplomacy.

Tell me about a time when you changed your priorities to meet others’ expectations?

None.

Tell me about a difficult decision that you have made?

When I chose Teaching over Bank Job.

What significant problems have you faced in the last year?

Problems are superficial for me. They don’t affect me. Instead, I take them as a challenge.

Tell me how you organize your work and schedule your time?

There are 24 hours a day. You do have 16 hours of work time. Exclude 4 hours for job work, you still have 12 hours. Now what you do in these 12 leisure hours make a difference.

Describe a situation you were involved in that required a multi-dimensional communication strategy?

I was invited as a motivational speaker at an Engineering College. The audience included students, parents and teachers. That’s when I had to communicate multi-dimensionally.

Give an example of a difficult or sensitive situation that required extensive communication?

IQAC meetings- Where you have to convince college management, staff, and external experts. Also during Parents-Teachers meetings, especially when someone’s child is weak in studies.

What two or three accomplishments have given you the most satisfaction? Why?

Satisfaction is the death of desire.

Describe a time when you led or motivated others?

Always.

Describe a situation where you were successful in getting people to work together effectively?

I am Incharge of EEESA (Electrical and Electronics Students Association). I have 450 students working with me. We’ve conducted many workshops and activities through this ‘By the students, for the students’ forum.

Describe a situation in which you were a member (not a leader) of a team and a conflict arose within the team. What did you do?

I am a member of IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell). Many conflicts aroused in this cell, especially during the NAAC and NBA accreditation process. I listened to everyone, considered everything, and then used to take a decision which was in nobody’s favor.  

Tell me about a time when you were able to change someone’s view point significantly?

There was this boy with a criminal history. Everybody said he can’t do anything in his life, even his parents. He was in depression. I talked to him, guided him. He’s now in IBM.

Tell me about a time when you were asked to do something that you disagreed with?

Many times you have to do work just because your superiors wanted you to do it. It happens. You don’t agree with it; you don’t see the logic behind it. But you do it anyway, because it’s easier to do work rather than arguing.

What your researchers should develop in research?

Research means systematic investigations and study of established facts. I always tell my researchers that the main purpose of research is to gain advance knowledge, and then apply that knowledge to reach new conclusions and creations that would help society.

What is the greatest work done by your research students which have shown greatest impact in that field?

We have a patent in our name, which will soon be commercialized.

What type of research is going on in your laboratory?

Power system stability and protection.

Describe a specific problem solved by you?

Power transformer protection. Classification of faults and detection.

What is an approach for a problem?

Exhaustive literature study, comparative analysis, careful scrutiny.

Give some commonly faced repercussions in your life with which you failed to meet your deadline?

As I said, I am a perfectionist. So sometimes it becomes rather time consuming as I double check everything to have my work more systematic.

In such situations what are the measures you have taken to avoid such repercussions when the same deadline is set in course of time?

I make a plan and stick to it.

What are the qualities of an ideal student / learner?

He should be a good listener. He must not keep his mind preoccupied.

What are the qualities of an ideal teacher?

Every teacher has the power to make students happy. Some do it by entering the classroom, others by leaving the classroom. Be the first type. In the class of an ideal teacher, a student must sit not because of the fear of attendance or internal marks, but because of the fact that he would miss the knowledge. Good oration is also important. Ideal teachers have the potential to make the boring topics interesting.

Which stage of education for a child is important?

High School is the most important stage I believe.

Does one education system suit for all set of students across the world?

Ofcourse not. Different countries should have different education outcomes which will benefit their people. A common strategy won’t work for everyone.

What is the goal of education?

Education is the most important discovery of mankind. Education is the basic factor which counts for the development of our civilization. Education is the process of acquisition of knowledge, skill, beliefs, values and habits. Real Education is thus, the pursuit of wisdom
